Alum | Earth and Space Sciences

I am currently an Assistant Professor of Geology, Geochemistry, and Climate in the Environmental Sciences Dept. at the University of Montana Western. I earned my doctorate in Paleoclimate and Isotope Geochemistry with Dr. Eric Steig from the University of Washington. I have spent years studying polar regions and reconstructing climate from ice cores. My research goals are to understand the past climate to provide context for the climate changes of today and the future. I do this by utilizing environmental archives of climate like ice cores, lake sediments, glacier deposits, tree rings, and isotopes. I am an avid outdoor enthusiast, with experience leading sailing courses, backcountry trail crews, and experiential education programs. I am a devoted steward of the planet and enjoy snowboarding, climbing, mountain biking, and camping with my family.
