Sonia Hitchcock
Graduate Student | Evans School of Public Policy and Governance
My encounters with extreme weather, habitat destruction, and natural disasters inspired my lifelong goal of supporting tangible and equitable environmental protections. After graduating from the University of California Santa Cruz with a degree in Plant Sciences and Sustainability Studies, I developed a passion for organizing and currently work as the Digital Field Manager at Washington Conservation Action.
As an organizer, I am passionate about supporting others in transforming their ideas into actions. I am inspired by the volunteers and interns on my team, youth leaders within the environmental justice movement, and my peers in the Evergreen Workers Union.
Outside of work, I am pursuing a Master of Public Administration at the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance, and I am excited to be joining PCC as a member of P-GraSC. In my spare time, I love trying new vegan recipes and restaurants, listening to music, and spending time outdoors with my dog.
