Naomi Wharton
Graduate Student | Oceanography
I’m a physical oceanography PhD student in the School of Oceanography, advised by Drs. Alison Gray and Steven Riser. I am interested generally in the role of air-sea interactions in climate, with my current project focused on the relationship between small-scale sea surface temperature anomalies and large-scale climate variability.
I served on the PCC Graduate Steering Committee (P-GraSC) from 2022 to 2024, during which I served as a leader and liaison for the ACORN subcommittee. I am also pursuing the PCC Graduate Certificate in Climate Science (GCeCS) as part of my graduate studies. I was a recipient of a 2023 PCC Graubard Fellowship and am currently supported by an NDSEG Fellowship.
