I am a Washington Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow studying drought and climate dynamics with Greg Hakim, Eric Steig, and David Battisti. Using instrumental data, paleoclimate records, and climate model simulations, I study the sources and impacts of climate variability at interannual-century timescales. I hope my work will further understanding related to how future climate change will unfold: will the world warm relatively smoothly, like a ramp, or in fits and starts, like an uneven staircase? I also hope my research will help us understand more about why Western North America can experience droughts that last decades.
