Faculty | Oceanography
I am a chemical oceanographer with a background in aquatic chemistry. I'm presently studying ocean acidification along the west coast of North America, nitrogen cycling in the Black Sea, particulate trace metals in the Arabian Gulf and the relationship between peak oil and climate change.
In 2001 I conceived and obtained funding to start the UW Program on Climate Change and was the first Director for a 5 year term.
