Daniel Anderson
Scientist | Oceanography
An ocean enthusiast and Chemical Oceanographer, I have worked to understand the science of the sea, while keeping an eye toward marine hobbies such as SCUBA diving, fishing, and sailing. Becoming PADI certified in 2013, I jump started my career in understanding how these ecosystems were built while engaging in the predictive study of future changes from environmental impacts. In the School of Oceanography at the University of Washington, I was able to expand my knowledge by studying marine chemistry and joining a research lab focused on biomineralization in the ocean. Spending months on research vessels, often under rough conditions, I have dived in some of the most beautiful locations in the world and, have worked with remote populations to understand human impacts on the ocean.
Currently, I am the lead technician of a project, working with faculty on a revolutionary ocean acidification project in the South Pacific islands attempting to understand the complex marine chemical changes at an ecosystem level. Check out my website www.danielbanderson.com.
