Alum | Environmental and Forest Sciences

I am currently the sustainability coordinator for King County Metro Transit. In this role, I am responsible for facilitating Metro Transit to meet our sustainability and climate change mitigation goals, as well as represent Metro's perspective in County-wide and regional conversations on these issues.

Formerly, from 2007-2016 I worked as a Staff Scientist with the Seattle, WA office of the Stockholm Environment Institute on climate change mitigation policy. I was an outreach presenter and researcher with the Climate Impacts Group, during and after completing my degree at UW.

I completed my M.S. in Forest Resources and Interdisciplinary Policy in 2007 with support from fellowships via the Program on Climate Change and Program on the Environment. I was the first graduate student from outside one of the PCC's core departments to be a PCC Fellow. Together with other fellows, we founded and established the Graduate Climate Conference in 2006, which continues on today!

My career has transitioned along the science policy continum from doing applied science research then to applying science to policy and now working to implement the climate policies we need on the ground. https://www.linkedin.com/in/carrie-m-lee-119a335
