Angie Boysen

Alum | Oceanography

I was a graduate student working in the lab of Anitra Ingalls in the UW School of Oceanography. My research focuses on understanding the important roles that microbes play in controlling the ocean biogeochemical cycles. My research so far has focused on studying microbial communities in the Pacific Ocean, primarily the subtropical gyre near Hawaii. When I'm not studying the ocean I'm often out exploring the mountains on foot, bike, or ski. I'm also passionate about science education and outreach and try to spend my free time sharing my love for science and nature with others.

Dr. Boysen graduated with a PhD in Oceanography in 2020, and currently holds a post-doc position at the University of Chicago.
